Why this exists
People who read a lot save things in a dozen tools, and nearly all of it stays scattered and private. Getting from a saved line to something you'd share takes enough effort that most of it never leaves the drafts folder. Commonplace treats publishing as a side effect of thinking well, not a separate job.1

How it's built
Astro and Svelte on Cloudflare. Each person gets their own subdomain. The stack is deliberately simple. Pages are static where they can be, and no JavaScript ships unless it earns its place. The goal is a fast site that feels like yours, not like a dashboard someone else owns.
Design principles
Fewer features, done well. Your public posts can be read by anyone, with no account and no wall, and your RSS feed carries them anywhere.1 Each post is small enough to stand on its own and can sit beside others in a sprint or a newsletter. The interface stays out of the way so the writing can speak.
